Christina Aguilera Set To Honor Michael Jackson

Christina Aguilera will be performing a tribute to Michael Jackson later this week. Alongside Marc Anthony, LL Cool J, Smokey Robinson and James Morrison, the singer will be featured in an hour-long CBS special entitled ‘The King of Pop: One Year Later’. The broadcast will air at 8am ET as part of ‘The Early Show’. Check out what Aguilera had to say about The King of Pop below:
“Music wouldn’t be what it is without someone like Michael Jackson. I remember going to my high school talent show singing ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ and being a huge fan of his album Bad. I know all my dancers wouldn’t be behind me dancing if it weren’t for that.”

Remembering Aguilera’s thunderous tribute to James Brown at the 2007 Grammy Awards, this news is indeed very intriguing. However, Aguilera would do best to keep her trademark screaming in check because Jackson’s restraint and impeccable vocal technique were among the reasons for his position of high regard in the industry. The last thing anyone needs to hear right now is Aguilera clutter one of Jackson’s classics with her usual series of “ya ya ya’s” (her default vocal run). That is all.
