Beyonce was named the second most powerful celebrity in the world by Forbes Magazine in their annual ‘100 Celebrity Power List’ which is based on earnings and media exposure. Bey’s earnings and profile ‘boosted’ in the past 12 months by her global tour and endorsement deals.
Lady GaGa shot straight into the number 4 position, just after ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron, which considering she’s only released one album (not counting the re-release) is pretty phenomenal. Like Beyonce, GaGa’s world wide tour has helped her gain her position on the list.
However, none of these power players could topple Mama Oprah, who once again landed herself on the number 1 spot and named the most powerful celebrity in the world. Winfrey knocked film star Angelina Jolie off the top spot who this year fell to number 18 on the list.
Britney Spears was at six, followed by U2 in seventh place, making a return to the top 100, with Tiger Woods the only sports man making the top 10.
