R&B heavyweights Chris Brown and Usher made headlines this week after their show-stopping performance at Jamaica’s Sumfest at the weekend. Now the pair look set to make many more, following confirmation that they recorded a duet during their stay in the Caribbean country.
According to Sumfest organiser Johnny Gourzong, Brown and Usher recorded the collaboration over two-days (July 24th-25th) at a Montego Bay recording studio. It marks the first time the one-time rivals would have featured on the same track.
With Chris Brown increasingly looking set for a commercial comeback (see: BET Awards, ‘Deuces’ reception etc), aligning with Usher (who is enjoying a career resurgence of his own) can only be a good thing, at this point.
Undeniably, two of the industry’s most gifted performers, a collaboration of this magnitude gives way to many a possibility – both musically and visually with any accompanying video. Exciting stuff.
