Britney’s ‘Hold It Against Me’ Hits #1

Never underestimate the pulling power of Pop titan Britney Spears. At least that’s the lesson many are learning in light of the sales of the superstar’s new single ‘Hold It Against Me’.

First heard and made available for purchase less than 24 hours ago, the Max Martin produced cut has already rocketed to the top of the charts.

While the song’s Billboard placing will become apparent next week, it has hit #1 on the US iTunes chart – where it still sits as at typing. Paired with its astronomical Stateside airplay (which yesterday broke Mariah Carey’s record for Fastest Added Song To Mainstream Formats), Spears looks set for a high debut within the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten – with there being strong potential for a #1 debut.

Meanwhile, ‘Against Me’ occupies the iTunes top spot in over 10 countries.

It really is Britney, b*tch!
