Can we say Goose bumps. Jennifer Hudson did a tribute to Oprah at the 33rd annual Kennedy Center Honors. J. Hudson looks stunning in a lovely Grey dress that shows of her new figure. behind her singing was the Tennessee State University choice sounding wonderful.

But one question is why is it that Jennifer Hudson is singing "I'm Here" from the Broadway play "The Color Purple" and not Fantasia. as J.Hudson was singing you can see that there were part were she was straining her voice note, but I must say still sounded Great! You can tell Orphan was moved by the performance as her eyes became teary and she grabbed for her boyfriend of 20 years Stedman.

RIHANNA TO OPEN THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

The producers of the American Music Awards have decided to kick of this year’s show with a bang. Rihanna is set to open the 38th annual event which airs live via ABC from the Nokia Theatre at 8pm Est on November 21st.There is no word as to what the dentist drill vocalist will be performing but the opening artists usually do extended medleys of their greatest hits (see: Janet Jackson and Christina Aguilera).

Not to worry, those viewers who survive being subjected to Rihanna’s car alarm vocals (or do not change the channel in disgust) will be able to witness real talent later in the telecast when Usher, P!nk and Bon Jovi hit the stage. You have been warned.

KANYE WEST TO PERFORM AT THE MTV VMA’S

After sending shockwaves through the music industry when he upstaged the Taylor Swift’s painfully dull acceptance speech (and saving the show in the process), Kanye West is set to return to the MTV VMA stage. US Magazine reports that the controversial visionary is set to perform at the 2010 ceremony which will take place on September 12th. There is no word as to whether Yeezy will be performing ‘Power’ or a new single from his upcoming album which hits stores on September 14th.

MTV VMA 2010 Nominations; GaGa Leads With 13!

Pop phenom Lady GaGa leads the pack of nominees at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The 24 year old superstar scored an unprecedented 13 nominations - making history as the first artist to achieve that many in a single year.

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer said of her whopping number of noms:

“I’m so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number; 13. A long time ago the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard, together we changed the rules. God put me on Earth for 3 reasons: To make loud music, gay videos, and cause a damn raucous. Thank You MTV!”

Nicki Minaj accepted an Award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist last night at the BET Awards show. She sang praises to her idol Jada Pinkett, paid homage to Lil Wayne and sent a subliminal message to Lil Kim.

Tonight on the 2010 BET Awards Chris Brown did one of the best performances I have see dedicated to Mr. Jackson "He Left His Heart On The Stage." said by Trey Songz. KANYE WEST’S NEW ALBUM MOVED UP?

Kanye West must have really done some great work on his upcoming album, ‘Good Ass Job’, because it has been given an earlier release date. Music executive Andre Harrell has stated that the record will now hit stores on September 14th, a week earlier than its original September 21st release date. That puts West’s LP in stores on the same day as Kid Cudi and Trey Songz’s (who?) projects. Let the games begin!

It has literally just been announced that Usher, Alicia Keys, Eminem, and T-Pain, will be taking to the stage at the 2010 BET Awards.

They join previously announced performers for the June 27th event Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Drake, Kanye West, Rick Ross, and Diddy-Dirty Money.

It certainly appears as though BET left the best performer announcements till last, as prior to now, the line-up was looking a little thin on interesting live acts.

Randomness: Does anyone else agree that the BET Awards being good generally depends on whether Beyonce is on the bill? Be it by coincidence or not, but I’ve noticed the show is usually the business when she takes to the stage (excluding last year’s atrocity of an MJ tribute show). Just saying…

NEWS: Prince To Be Awards BET Lifetime Achievement Award

Prince will be awarded this years lifetime achievement award at the BET Awards 2010. “Prince is dynamic. Prince is a genius. Prince is music” said Stephan G. Hill, president of programming, music and specials for the network. Prince joins the likes of Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and James Brown in being honoured by the BET Awards and like those celebrations this year will feature a special tribute performance to the Purple One.
Great news!!! I look forward to seeing the tribute and hopefully seeing Prince perform!
