Album Review: Jill Scott - The Light Of The Sun
It's impossible not to root for Jill Scott. The 'Illa- delphian R&B vet is a self-described "grande dame queen beast" in a genre of models, putting her often-messy personal struggles right up front. The Light of the Sun, Scott's first disc since splitting up with her (now-ex) drummer, recalls that relationship with jazzy, good-natured candor on "Quick." Elsewhere, Scott assays life back on the market in her trademark warm and inviting, if rarely thrilling, neo-soul style – from the old-school hip-hop jam "Shame," which excoriates a man who didn't want her, to the jazz poem "Womanifesto," an ode to her "strong legs that stroll off the 33 bus" and desire for "the rhythm of my space." Scott proves it's a nice place to spend time.

Album Review: Jennifer Hudson - I Remember Me

After winning a Grammy for best new artist in 2008 then getting married in 2009 and having a baby in 2010 Jennifer Hudson has finally hit us with some more music with her powerhouse vocals.
“I Remember Me” is a feel good album; it’s for an older music lover but anyone with a mature since in music will love. With song written by Alicia Key, R.Kelly, and Jennifer Hudson herself the song turns out a lot of uplifting music with songs like “Angel”, “Everybody Needs Love”, and “Don’t Look Down” as well as songs that will have your head moving like “No One Gonna Love You”, and “Why It Is So Hard”.
This over all Albums is great and as of now it is number 3 on the itunes charts with her competition being another powerhouse Chris Brown make people wonder where will she be on the Billboard Charts.
“I Remember Me” I would have to say #BuyTheAlbum!

Album Review: Marsha Ambrosius - Late Night & Early Mornings

Late Nights, & Early Mornings is a understatement!
Marsha Ambrosius first solo album titled "Late Nights, And Early Mornings" is fulled with different emotions from something we all know too well Love, to something that seems to be very common feeling in us all "Anger". This London native first hit the U.S music scene in 2002 with a music Duo titled "Floetry" with hit songs such as "Say Yes", "Gettin' Late", "Super Star" ft. Common, and "Lay Down". After five Grammy Nominations The Duo split to venture off into other audiences.
"I titled this album late night and early morning because in the process of making the album there were a lot of late night, and early morning" said by Marsha on Bet's 106& Park (Music Matter Monday) this being the she did her first live performance of "Far Away" a single from her album.
When turning the album on I she hit you with a very sensual introduction titled "Anticipation" following that you get the very sexy side of Marsha with two songs titled " With You" which most of the song is Marsha Moaning in a very tasteful way.after that we get the song that's titled after the album "Late Night, and Early Mornings" yet another sexual song. at this point of the album you start to think that it's going to be all about sex but lucky it's not. "I Hope She Cheats On You(With A Basketball Player)", and "Far Away" are the two single that are currently getting the most radio play on urban radio stations. Skipping a few songs we get to my favorite song off the album titled "Stay" which is a mid Tempo song for the old head, and something I was happy to see on the album was that she re-did the song that she wrote for the late great Micheal Jackson title "Butterflies"
This Album is good but there are a few songs that I will truly advise to skip.
I give the Album a 3 1/2 of of 5

Album Review: Adele - 21

Starting off with her 1st Single "Rolling In The Deep" which has a very indie sound to it but yet still very poppy, and radio friendly. Followed by an song titled "Rumor Has It" has an ultra dope vintage sound to it like something from the era of DooWops. Now we come to one of my personal favorite songs on the album titled "Turning Tables" which speaks about a relationship that's Topsy-Terby, and how she's ready to just give up. this ballet is amazing and it shows why Adele is such an Rising Legend. "Set Fire To The Rain" is set to be the second single form the album yet another beautiful song. "He Won't Go" a very urban song, also on of my favorite tracks on the album. The melody change between the versus and the course are amazing.
That is just to name a few of the AMAZING songs from "21". This album seems to be more personal, and darker the her debut album titled "19", but yet still a solid piece of art.
Buy it......

JustJared Reviews Rihanna's New Album, "Loud"

Entertainment website Just Jared got the chance to preview Rihanna's fifth studio album, "Loud." They were very impressed by what they heard and once again confirmed that this will be RiRi's strongest effort to date. Check out their review below:
S&M - It’s definitely a club banger and the naughtiest song of all! Here are some of the sample lyrics as best I heard them: “I may be bad but I’m perfectly good… There’s sex in the air. I don’t care, I love the smell of it… Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me. I like it, come on, come on.”
Only Girl (In The World) - The whole room was dancing along! During the lyrics “hold me like a pillow,” L.A. hugged himself like a pillow, too. Funny moment!
What’s My Name? - It’s the second single off of Loud - listen to a bit of the track here! “Oh nah nah, what’s my name? …Hey boy, I really wanna see if you can go downtown with a girl like me. Oh boy, I wanna really be with you, you’re just my type… You’re so amazing, you took the time to figure me out..”
Cheers - The song samples Avril Lavigne’s “I’m With You” and is so unbelievably catchy! Avril’s “yeahh, yeahh, yeahhh, yeahhh” are prevalent throughout. This song will be so huge in clubs, bars, and everywhere that serves alcohol. Everybody will be raising a glass! sample lyrics: “Turn it around with a dollar round, there’s a party at the bar everybody put your glasses up… Cheers to the freakin weekend, I drink to that. Everybody put your glasses up. Don’t let the bastards get you down… Drinks on my mind and my mind on my money.”
California King (Bed) - A beautiful ballad! Lyrics include: “nose to nose, palm to palm, wrist to wrist, toe to toe…Feels like more than distance between us. In this California king bed, we’re 10,000 miles apart. I’ll be California wishing on the stars, my California king.” It’s L.A.’s favorite song off the album!
Raining Men - The fast and uptempo song features Nicki Minaj! There isn’t much of a chorus, but the song features a variation of the popular children’s phrase “eenie meenie miney mo”.
Who’s That Chick - Used for a Doritos ad - read more about the song here. There are two videos for this track!
Fading Away - A beautiful ballad that likely references her relationship with Chris Brown. The song includes the lines, “Ready for change, baby, Open up my eyes and finally realize you’re fading away. Too late… Running your mouth. So fed up, don’t press your luck today. What’s a girl to do when she’s crying inside?”
Man Down - The song starts off with sirens and sounds like a metaphor for deadening a relationship. Lyrics include: “I pulled out my gun… Ra pum pum pum pum. Oh mama, mama, mama, I just shot a man down in central station. Never thought I’d do it. Whatever ever happened to me. Why did I pull the trigger. What am I gonna do?”
My anticipation for this has certainly gone through the roof after reading this. Snicki Minaj will be appearing on the album, that should be an interesting collabo and I can't believe they're sampling Avril's "I'm With You" on "Cheers." I wonder what that will sound like.
Apparently two or three more additional tracks will be added to the final track listing. The album drops November 12th!

Jeremih - Album Cover, Track List, And Review

1. All About You
2. X's And O's
3. Down On Me featuring 50 Cent
4. Take Off
5. I Like featuring Ludacris
6. Waiter (The 5 Senses)
7. Broken Down
8. Holding On
9. Wanna Get Up
10. Sleepers
11. Love Don't Change
Jeremih's sophomore album, "All About You," has leaked in full (And I Have It!). The 23-year-old singer delivers records about love, heartbreak and sex with this eleven track album.
Much like his self-titled debut, which spewed a Platinum single in "Birthday Sex," production is top notch. In fact, "All About You" is perhaps more solid from start to finish than it's predecessor. Jeremih showcases a bit of growth lyrically and musically as evident on the album highlight, "Broken Down." The track compliments Jeremih's voice and you can hear the snarl as he sings, which adds a different element to it.
Jeremih gives us those baby-making records with cuts like the album's title cut, "All About You," the finger snapping "Waiter" and the album's first single, "I Like," featuring Ludacris. Although his word play on those records is a bit cringe worthy, they will prove to come in handy for those late night sessions.
The album's dark horse is "Take Off," a heavy hitting mid-tempo that sports a beat that sounds fresh out of Ryan Tedder's front pocket. Although it is a single worthy cut, Jeremih's vocals fall a couple steps short. His rapping-sining delivery on the album's second single, "Down On Me," featuring 50 Cent, is unfortunately more in his comfort zone. It's the only cut on "All About You" that has the Chicago native dabbling in Auto-Tune and is the album's strongest record.
Even though Jeremih's vocals are a step below his counterparts' (Trey Songz, Usher), his second studio effort is decent. Production is top notch and if you enjoy R&B ballads with a modern twist or sleek slow jams then you will enjoy this album from start to finish. The album drops September 28th.
Highlights are "All About You," "Take Off," "Broken Down," "Down On Me," and "I Like."
