The album, her first since 2006’s The High Road, was previously titled All I Want Is Everything. She will announce the first single and shoot a video in the coming weeks. To hold over her patient fans, JoJo released a free mixtape Can’t Take That Away From Me via Rap-Up.com last year.

JoJo treated her fans to a special performance via her YouTube channel recently. The young singer did a powerful a cappella rendition of Jill Scott’s ‘Whenever You’re Around’. See the footage below:

That was incredible. It’s obvious that the older JoJo gets the more impressive her range becomes. Here is hoping that she gets her label situation together and she finally gets the attention she deserves.

MIXTAPE PREMIERE: JOJO – ‘CAN’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME’

Via: Rap-Up

Label drama may have impeded the release of JoJo’s new album, but nothing can stand between her and her fans. The 19-year-old songbird breaks her silence with her mixtape Can’t Take That Away From Me. Soulful sounds and live instruments make up the 11-track set, with production from Chad Hugo of The Neptunes, Kenna, Neff-U, Oak, Beau Dozier, and Jordan Gatsby, who produced the first single “In the Dark.”

While she explores new territory on the collection, it is not necessarily indicative of the sound on her forthcoming studio album All I Want Is Everything. “I was just able to take more of a risk,” JoJo told Rap-Up.com. “It is all over the place, just like me.”

The empowered singer took to her blog to share her thoughts on the long-awaited release day. “In releasing this mixtape, I’m affirming that even though some have tried they CAN’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME,” she wrote. “What is THAT? My voice, my spirit, my drive, my dreams. As you listen to these songs, I hope that they make your head nod, your mind tick, your emotions move, your belly laugh, and maybe elicit a ’stanky face’ or something ;) Lol.”

Rap-Up.com is proud to present JoJo’s first mixtape. Download it for free below!

New Song: JoJo – ‘In The Dark’

The 1st track to be lifted from JoJo’s upcoming ‘Can’t Take That Away From Me’ mixtape has just surfaced. ‘In The Dark’ was co-written by the young singer herself and produced by Jordan Gatsby.

The bass on this track goes hard. It’s great to see JoJo taking her music in a different direction than the Disney Pop sound that most people associate with her look and sound. She has certainly grown as an artist and I am really waiting to see what else she has to offer, especially on the vocal front given her impressive range.
